Guiding Organisations Through AI's Ethical Landscape
Our mission is to help organisations deploy AI systems with transparency, accountability, and respect for the values that matter to their stakeholders and communities.
Back to HomeOur Story
Prismara was founded in 2020 by a group of professionals from technology, policy, and ethics backgrounds who recognised a growing need for thoughtful guidance in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. As organisations across sectors began deploying AI systems at scale, we observed a gap between technical capability and ethical oversight.
Based in Singapore, we chose to establish our practice in a jurisdiction actively shaping international discourse on AI governance. Singapore's Model AI Governance Framework and its commitment to responsible innovation provided a foundation aligned with our values of transparency, accountability, and practical implementation.
Since our establishment, we have worked with financial institutions, healthcare providers, public sector entities, and technology companies to develop governance frameworks that balance innovation with responsibility. Our approach emphasises careful assessment over prescriptive solutions, recognising that effective governance must be tailored to each organisation's context, values, and risk profile.
We believe that ethical AI governance is not about limiting innovation, but about creating the structures and processes that allow organisations to pursue their objectives with clarity about potential impacts and appropriate safeguards in place.

Our frameworks reference Singapore's Model AI Governance Framework, ISO/IEC 42001, and sector-specific guidelines where applicable.
Ethical Independence
We maintain independence from technology vendors and do not receive commissions for recommending specific solutions or platforms.
Stakeholder Engagement
Our assessment process includes interviews with relevant stakeholders across technical, business, and governance functions to develop comprehensive understanding.
Continuous Learning
Our team participates in ongoing professional development and maintains awareness of emerging research, regulatory developments, and industry practices.
Quality Assurance
All deliverables undergo internal review processes to ensure accuracy, clarity, and practical applicability before presentation to clients.
Our Values and Expertise
We recognise that organisations deploying AI systems operate in complex environments where technical capabilities, business objectives, regulatory requirements, and ethical considerations intersect. Our role is to help navigate these complexities with clarity about trade-offs and thoughtful frameworks for decision-making.
Transparency is central to our approach. We believe that governance structures should be understandable to stakeholders across technical and non-technical functions, and that the rationale for governance decisions should be documented and accessible. This commitment extends to our own practice. We are clear about the scope and limitations of our assessments, the methodologies we employ, and the assumptions underlying our recommendations.
We value practical implementation over theoretical frameworks. While we draw on academic research and international standards, our deliverables are designed to be actionable within existing organisational structures and resource constraints. We work collaboratively with client teams to develop governance approaches that can be integrated into decision-making processes rather than existing as separate compliance exercises.
Our expertise spans bias assessment methodologies, transparency mechanisms, accountability structures, risk evaluation frameworks, and incident response protocols. We understand both the technical aspects of AI systems and the organisational contexts in which they are deployed. This combination allows us to bridge conversations between data science teams, executive leadership, legal counsel, and governance functions.
We approach each engagement recognising that there are often multiple defensible positions on ethical questions, and that the appropriate governance approach depends on an organisation's specific context, values, and risk tolerance. Our role is to help clarify these considerations and support informed decision-making rather than impose prescriptive solutions.
